Selftest for Covid19

The construction industry is among the industries that have been most exposed to Covid-19. As the first in this industry in Norway, Byggmakker and Onninen now sell approved self-tests in their stores across the country.
  • The construction industry has been hit hard by corona. That is why it is important for us as the first retail chain in Norway to offer Covid19 self-testers. We believe that this is an important product for our customers, not least in the corporate segment. Craftsmen meet many people every day and we want to make their working day as safe as possible, says CEO of Kesko Norway, Hilde Kristoffersen.

The self-tester will be for sale in Byggmakker stores and Onninen stores across the country. The Danish company Mediq is taking the test to Norway and has chosen Byggmakker and Onninen as outlets, in addition to selected pharmacies.

The test is the first SARS-COV-2 antigen self-test on the Norwegian market that is CE approved for private users. In addition to the CE approval, the test follows all requirements set by the Norwegian Medicines Agency.

  • Access to self-tests will contribute to a safer everyday life by being able to increase the number of tests performed, as well as reduce the spread of infection at social gatherings, says CEO of Mediq, Trond Dahl Hansen.

The test package includes all the components needed to perform and read the test, and is delivered with Norwegian text and instructions for use. The user easily takes a test in the lower part of the nose with the sterile swab, and the test is easily read 15 minutes later without the assistance of a healthcare professional.
